SPECIAL SESSION
New Era: Artificial Intelligence and Sustainability in Education
The rapid evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming education at an unprecedented pace, opening new possibilities for teaching, learning, and institutional development. At the same time, the growing urgency of global sustainability challenges calls for responsible, innovative, and forward-thinking approaches within the educational ecosystem.
This special session at LINK IT edTech 2026 focuses on the dynamic intersection of AI and sustainability, highlighting how intelligent technologies can support more efficient, inclusive, and environmentally conscious education systems. From AI-powered personalized learning to smart and energy-efficient digital infrastructures, the session explores how education can contribute to a more sustainable future while embracing technological progress.
Bringing together researchers, educators, and industry experts, the session will showcase current trends, practical solutions, and emerging research in the field. Particular attention will be given to ethical considerations, the role of AI in promoting sustainability competencies, and the development of responsible digital practices in education.
The session will also address key questions: How can AI help reduce the environmental footprint of education? In what ways can intelligent systems foster awareness and action toward sustainability? And how can institutions balance innovation with responsibility?
Moderated by Prof. Dr. Dušan Stojaković, the session will provide an engaging space for discussion, knowledge exchange, and collaboration, contributing to the broader mission of LINK IT edTech 2026—to shape the future of education through innovation, technology, and sustainable development.
