Smart4Future initiative is hosting a Special Session at the second LINK IT & EdTech International Conference – LINK IT&EdTech24
The overall vision of the SMART4FUTURE project is to place institutions of higher learning at the center of technologically advanced innovation ecosystems by inspiring students, and both academic and non-academic staff, to discover the power of smart technology while creating entrepreneurial responses to everyday problems.
The project will also create engaging and targeted teaching materials, provide training and mentoring, and use the powerful tools offered by digital technology.
The EIT HEI Initiative promotes innovation and entrepreneurship in higher education in the EU. The aim is to integrate innovative practices into curricula, strengthen collaboration with industry, support the development of startups, and build capacities for innovation. It is open to all higher education institutions from the EU and third countries participating in the Horizon program, aiming to strengthen the European innovation ecosystem.
Smart4Future goals include the following:
- Improving organisational processes that enable and support innovation and entrepreneurial education.
- Creating an innovation ecosystem through collaborations and networks that aim to address societal challenges.
- Changing the conditions that enable people to transform ideas into thriving ecosystems.
- Transferring knowledge and developing skills that support entrepreneurship and innovation among students, academics and non-academics.
- Sharing knowledge, experiences, and best practices, and encouraging the dissemination of project results to reach the widest possible audience.
The SMART4FUTURE project spans several scientific areas of interest, strongly focusing on interdisciplinary approaches. There are also crucial scientific and academic areas to be promoted at Smart4Future Special Session: Triangle of Knowledge at LINK IT&EdTech24 International Conference. Here are the primary areas it touches upon:
- Educational Technology and E-learning: The project’s emphasis on using smart technology and digital tools to enhance learning experiences places it firmly within the realm of educational technology. It explores how these technologies can be integrated into teaching materials and curricula to foster innovation and entrepreneurship.
- Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education: By aiming to inspire entrepreneurial responses to everyday problems and improve organisational processes that support innovation, the project contributes to research and practices in entrepreneurship education. This includes developing skills, knowledge, and attitudes that are crucial for entrepreneurial success.
- Organisational Studies: The focus on improving organisational processes and creating innovation ecosystems through collaborations and networks aligns with organisational behaviour, management, and development interests. This aspect involves studying how institutions can effectively support innovation and entrepreneurial activities.
- Knowledge Management and Dissemination: The project’s goals of transferring knowledge, sharing best practices, and encouraging the dissemination of results intersect with the field of knowledge management. This includes how knowledge is created, shared, and used within and between organisations.
- Social Innovation: The project delves into social innovation by addressing societal challenges and aiming to create conditions that enable the transformation of ideas into thriving ecosystems. This area explores how novel solutions can meet social needs more effectively than existing solutions, leading to improved social relations and enhanced societal structures.
The SMART4FUTURE project integrates educational technology, entrepreneurship education, organisational studies, knowledge management, and social innovation, showing a comprehensive approach to leveraging technology and innovation in higher education settings.
Papers from this and other LINK IT&EdTech24 sessions will be published in Book of Proceedings, Book of Extended Abstracts and Book of Abstracts: Student Symposium LINK IT&EdTech24.
